Applications

Applications are now open for the 2025 Hunter Schools Dance Festival. 

Performance details

  • Monday 28 July to Thursday 31 July (Term 3 Week 2)
  • Each evening there is a performance starting at 6:30pm with no interval.
  • Student can access the holding areas with their teacher for the performance from 5:30 pm.
  • No student will be released to parents or gaurdian till the conclusion of the performance each night. Specific collection points with the teacher will be provided to the schools.

Rehearsal details

  • Rehearsals wil be held in 2 sessions from 12 noon to 2 pm and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on the day of the performance.
  • All performers must attend rehearsals. 
  • Rehearsals are in order of performance to confirm sound and lighting settings.
  • Students must be in full costume and accessories. 

How to apply

Applications to audition for the Hunter Schools Dance Festival should be completed by the coordinating DoE teacher.

Applications must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Monday 12 May 2024.

What you need for the application

Please note that schools must email music and complete the online application to be selected. 

How to upload footage to YouTube

  1. Visit youtube.com and create an account:
  2. ‘Sign in’ to youtube.com.
  3. Select ‘Upload’.
  4. Follow the instructions to upload your video.
  5. Once uploaded, on the privacy settings select ‘unlisted (anyone with the link can view)’. This is important as selecting this setting means that the general public can’t view the link. Once you have done this, make sure you select ‘Save Changes’.  Please do not save as ‘Private’.
  6. You will be given a URL for your video. Copy this URL into the online application.
